Are all tests public?+
No. Companies choose if a test is public or private. Public tests are listed under Browse tests. Private tests can only be reached with the invite link the company shares.
Do I get anything for beta testing?+
Yes! On paid tests you earn a share of the $19 the company pays for your report: from 20% on level 1 up to 60% on level 5 of the reward ladder. Tests you are invited to directly by a company, as one of its own testers, are free, but they still count towards your next level.
What's the rating for?+
After a test the company rates your report. Your average rating and the number of tests you have done decide your level on the reward ladder, and with it how much you earn per report.
How do I qualify for paid tests?+
Do any free test on Beta Family. Your first report is your qualification: when it's rated 3 stars or more, by the company or by us, you reach level 1 and can join paid tests. Find free tests under Browse tests.
How do I climb the reward ladder faster?+
Do more tests. Free tests without a reward count just as much as paid ones, and a good rating on each report takes you further. See the reward ladder.
When do I get paid?+
When you have earned $50 or more you can request a payout. Payouts are sent through PayPal about once a month.
Why do I need to verify my ID before my first payout?+
So that the money goes to a real person, and each person has one account. The first time you request a payout, Stripe asks for a photo of your ID and a selfie; it takes about two minutes. Stripe does the check and keeps the pictures, we only get the result. You only do it once.
Can I change my report after I've sent it?+
Yes. You can edit a submitted report until the company has approved or rejected it.
Which mobile platforms do you support?+
iOS and Android phones and tablets.
What about broken apps?+
Apps are installed from the App Store, Google Play or the company's own beta link, such as TestFlight. If something seems wrong with an app, stop testing and contact us.
What is the duration of a test?+
It varies. See the test description for more information.
How do I delete my account?+
